Which Massage is For You?

By Stephanie Hanshaw

Sports Massage

To think the only people who qualify for a sports massage are “sporty people” is a myth! Sports massage is a deep tissue massage which people of all ages, professions, lifestyle and backgrounds benefit from. Among my clientele at The Natural Health Practice are labourers, office workers, businessmen and women who spend too much time behind the steering wheel, mums, and people who generally live a hectic lifestyle. Don’t rule yourself out just because your trainers haven’t seen the light of day! Sports Massage is a deep, intensive massage that deals with the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues. It relieves muscular tension, aches and postural complaints. It also helps enhance endurance, eliminate injury and prepare muscles back to their normal state for the sportsman and woman.

Swedish Massage

If the idea of a sports massage is not for you then maybe the Swedish Massage is more applicable to your needs. It focuses on improving circulation of blood and lymph and whilst also relaxing superficial muscles. Swedish Massage is ideal for anyone wanting to de-stress from a busy lifestyle.

Hot Stones Massage

If a sports massage is not your cup of tea but you still have tensed muscles that need releasing then maybe the hot stones massage is the thing for you. The direct heat from the basalt stones expand the blood vessels, pushing blood and unwanted waste materials through the body. This has a sedative effect on the nervous system. Stone massage makes you feel deeply relaxed, allowing you to let go of all the stress that is held within your body. The basalt stones can also be used chilled in ice allowing treatments on specific injuries with the hot and cold energy techniques.

Whether it’s for relaxation, to relieve tension, or to address an injury, there’s massage to suit you. It’s only a phone call away!
